Nordstrom Flagship

Nordstrom is a North American chain of luxury department stores, headquartered in Seattle, Washington. Founded in 1901 by Swedish American John W. Nordstrom and Carl F. Wallin, the company began as a shoe retailer and expanded its inventory to include clothing, accessories, handbags, jewelry, cosmetics, and fragrances.

Fashion photography, fabricated scenes, and augmented reality were combined to bring shoppers into these expressive vignettes placed throughout the store.  Sculptures had built in markers for AR content; which could be read via tablets, opening a window into a hidden world of street style and fashion. An AR technique called 2.5 AD was employed giving each scene a 180° view, from which to see the models in various poses wearing the latest trends.
